Transmitted from your hands to your glasses, bacteria can grow on spectacle lenses, creating a breeding ground for eye infections. In an era where consumers are more aware of and concerned by hygiene than ever, HOYA’s Anti-Bacterial Coating offers an effective way to reduce bacterial growth on your patients’ glasses.
Meeting our patients’ needs
Ideal for patients who work in healthcare, those who are particularly hygiene aware, or those experiencing eye infections.
HOYA’s Anti-Bacterial Coating is an easy lens addition to give your patient hygiene reassurance.
Improved protection against bacterial infection when wearers unintentionally transfer bacteria from their hands to their lenses, or when their lenses are exposed to bacteria in the environment.
Protection for lenses and eyes thanks to the most durable anti-reflective coating amongst HOYA coatings.
Multi-Surface Anti-Bacterial Lens Protection
HOYA’s Anti-Bacterial Coating is applied on both front and back surfaces of the lens to ensure greater anti-bacterial effectiveness, offering better protection for the wearer.
With Kohkin technology
HOYA’s Hi-Vision Anti-Bacterial Coatings use Kohkin technology, which inhibits the proliferation of bacteria on the surface of the lens.
The Anti-Bacterial Coating layer consists of silver ions known as AG+, which control bacterial growth.
The positively charged silver ions (Ag+) possess the antimicrobial effect, penetrating the bacteria and changing the structure of the intracellular enzyme, thereby stopping bacterial function.
This renders the bacteria unable to divide, thus bacterial growth is reduced.
